Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics which was established in 2013 depending Nevsehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Science and Arts Faculty first began education with 30 students in the academic year of 2013-2014.
The aim of the department is to give basic education to the students in order to be good researchers. The first two years of undergraduate program mainly include the basic lessons such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, general biology, microbiology, cell biology. The last two years of the program include specialized course lessons such as molecular genetics, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and also include laboratory studies of the lessons. Besides, our syllabus gives an opportunity for the students of the department or other departments to take courses. Within the scope of Erasmus, the students of our department find a chance to benefit from education facilities of different universities in Europe and USA in the frame of bilateral agreements.
In our department, various researchers are carried out in different fields, such as cancer genetics, biotechnology, microbiology, cytogenetic, molecular evolution, phylogenetic, tissue culture, molecular toxicology.

The graduates have the opportunity to continue to take part in both domestic and foreign postgraduate and undergraduate programs, which is significant to be academicians.
